On empty stomachs, kids don’t have the energy to focus, engage, learn and grow. Two mini food pantries were established in Mt. Shasta and Weed elementary schools. These pantries allow teachers to provide snacks to students who are hungry during the school day. Teachers can also prepare small take home bags for children bridging the food gap students may experience on weekends.
