Alysia Garcia came to Great Northern Services in 2021 as an Energy Assistance Outreach Coordinator, helping local families connect with vital support during the ongoing challenges of the pandemic.
She later transitioned into Community Development Block Grant programs, assisting with housing rehabilitation and infrastructure projects that help improve community vitality.
Alysia recently also assumed the role of Community Services manager, facilitating countywide food distribution services. Having grown up in a family that benefited from GNS services, Alysia understands how important they can be for families working to maintain stability during difficult times.
Before joining GNS, Alysia worked in student outreach with TRIO, a federally funded program that supports first-generation, low-income, and rural students in pursuing higher education.
That experience continues to shape her approach today as she leads programs like School Snacks and food distributions, making sure families have reliable access to nutritious food.
In her current roles as Community Development Project Coordinator and Community Services Manager, Alysia is always focused on helping build lasting stability for the people GNS serves.
Alysia’s favorite quote:
“Kindness costs nothing, but means everything.”
