Great Northern Services’ 2016 Weatherization program is now available to help lower heating costs for income-eligible Siskiyou County residents who heat their homes with electricity.

Keeping the heat in and the cold out is critical to living comfortably and affordably through the cold winter months.

The Great Northern weatherization team assists qualified applicants by checking heating and cooling systems, windows, insulation, and other areas in the home to help make it safe and energy efficient.

All types of rented or owned residences are eligible, including houses, apartments, duplexes and mobile homes. Landlords and property managers are encouraged to work with Great Northern to help qualify their tenants and get entire multi-unit buildings weatherized.

A checklist is provided with the application to explain what information is needed and what documentation is required by the state in order for Great Northern to process the application and provide assistance.

Applications must be complete when submitted. Because all documentation required is good for just 30 days from the time of submission, all necessary information and documentation must be submitted together with the completed application.

Applicants who receive SSI/SSA must submit a 2016 SSI/SSA award letter with their applications.

Call Adam at 530.938.4115 extension 117 to apply for free weatherization services.  Click here to download an application.
