The City of Mt. Shasta is offering snow removal assistance again this winter. Qualifying senior citizens may request assistance in removal of snow from driveways at their residence. (Renters may be eligible)
To be eligible you must be 60 and over, you must reside at the address year-round, there cannot be anyone under the age of 60 residing at the residence who is physically capable of snow removal, and the residence must be within Mt. Shasta City limits.
The Snow Removal Assistance Program operates on a first come, first served basis and registration often fills up in the first few days.
Applications for the City of Mt. Shasta’s free 2021-2022 snow removal program must be picked up between October 11th and October 14th from 9am to 4pm. Completed applications must be returned between October 18th and October 21st from 9am to 4pm.
Social distancing and mask wearing will be required during both pick up and drop of applications.
Applications are available for pick up and may be dropped off at the following locations: Mt. Shasta City Park, 1315 Nixon Rd, Mt. Shasta and Great Northern Services, 310 Boles Street, Weed.
The Senior Snow Removal Program is funded by a Community Development Block Grant granted to the City of Mt. Shasta. The program is administered by Great Northern Services and pays independent contractors to perform snow removal along city streets.
