GNS provides relief from hardship to residents in Siskiyou County. We partner with local government to bring substantial funds into our region that improve living conditions and update infrastructure.
GNS proficiency allows for development strategies in both normal and emergency situations.
In 30 years, more than 300 homes have been rehabilitated, and an influx of over $25 million has entered cities and the county. We acquired over $12 million for infrastructure improvements. County-wide, GNS enabled jurisdictions to recirculate $2.3 million earned from loan repayments into our communities.
Housing Rehabilitation (not available at this time)
For more than 30 years GNS has administered all the Housing and Community Development grants in Siskiyou County. Our services have included writing and overseeing grants awarded for housing rehabilitation of sub-standard homes occupied by low income residents. Infrastructure Development
Public infrastructure is the backbone of each and every community. Especially critical in Siskiyou County, where all municipalities are faced with aging systems that are no longer compliant or performing as they should.
GNS assists jurisdictions located in Siskiyou County to find ways to improve existing infrastructure such as water, sewer and other public services. We provide technical assistance, research funding options and collaborate with community partners on specific projects. Our duties while under contract include monitoring wage compliance on all public works projects, conducting employee interviews and assuring correct language in all contracts.
