Nice fellowship and everyone is always pleasant.” -Dave W.\nBe a part of our community’s senior support network! Your donation provides seniors in Siskiyou County with better nutritional options and gives isolated community members opportunities to spend time with caring friends. \nTHANK YOU! \nThe Siskiyou Senior Nutrition program provides a new Community Café experience by bringing together senior congregate meal customers with caring community members. Non-senior café patrons enjoy affordable lunches while interacting with participating seniors and creating a vibrant community space. The program also delivers meals to homebound qualifying individuals allowing them to remain independent longer. \nAny donation you make will ensure that seniors receive the meals they need\, and will keep them connected\, engaged\, and supported. \nSiskiyou County has the highest rate of food insecurity (lack of regular access to food) in California. This means that Siskiyou County seniors may suffer more hunger than any other seniors living in California. They are often isolated\, living with disabilities\, and experiencing extreme poverty. Don’t leave them behind! \nThe Siskiyou Senior Nutrition program serves the communities of Mt. Shasta\, Weed\, Dunsmuir and McCloud. Great Northern Services assumed administration of this program in July of 2019 and became an official Meals on Wheels member in September of 2019. \nGreat Northern Services is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit supporting Siskiyou County residents with:\n• Child\, adult\, and senior food programs\n• Low-income energy assistance\n• Free home weatherization\n• Access to small business capital\n• Community and economic development
